Some people advocate stone wash, hone blast, grind, chemical coat and such finish are good, in hiding surface scratches. But I have problem with that theory, scratches on all finishes are like magnets to my eyes. Additionally, other finish other than mirror is near impossible to restore.
On the other hand, mirror finish can be restored to the original luster. But on a blade with proper HRC S90V, especially with deep original ground finished marks, it was time consuming to achieve the mirror effect initially.
My pocket knives are for light duty use, such as help slice to enjoy abundance of tropical fruits we have! Other times, especially with the one's that had received personal touches, it simply serve for sense of touch and eye candy gratification duties! :)
