How did Spyderco get its name (It does sound nice, doesn't it...?).
I suppose it's a bug thing en the "co" is for company... But what have bugs to do with knives :-)
And why the letter "Y" in setad of the "I"?

Strangley ; the name Spyderco comes, according to "The Spyderco Story" from the European term "spyder" which is a slang term to describe
speed. The "co" is of course "company". Why the "bug" as company icon is used is related to the phonetic "spyder" as akin to "spider". Let me tell you, I LOVE my "bug(s)"; the SE cricket being first and foremost

The Spyderco Story... I have to get this book one of this days. However, from the banter I heard in this Forum, it seems that the "Spyder" was a tool used to assemble parts, and which had the look of an open hand or a Spyder laying on its back. At least, that's what I heard.
