That is a fairly well rounded list. It is significatly different than my best 5, but YMMV.

I'd get a LadyBug/Jester/DragonFly. A friendly EDC that won't scare the pants off anyone around and still gives you the cutting power of most Spydies. LB and Jester are smaller and more keychain oriented, while the DragonFly will still give you a four finger grip!

If those knives suit you brother, then they can't be improved upon, just added to! :D

That's a nice 5. :)

Don't you need a FFG Serrated blade in there?
Don't you need a Hawkbill blade in there?

swigert wrote:Manix 2XL - could be used in self defense, big blade for great slicing and food prep. Best lockup of any knife I have and fits hand the best from all grips.

Paramilitary 2 - Do I need to make a case here?

Sage 1 - perfect gentle and folder, great blade shape and slicer. Non intimidating.

Endura 4 FFG - Freaking workhorse!!!! Don't mind using it very hard, does any job!

Pacific Salt SE - IMO best serrated knife on the market. Perfect for my fishing and waterfowl hunting!

What would you change in my lineup? I can't think of a better lineup of just 5 knives. If you were to add what would you take away and why?

Karahawk, Tasman Salt, Delica 4, Tenacious, and Persistance.
Spyderco Knives (in order of obtainment):

-Pacific Salt, Black, PE
-Delica 4, Emerson Grey

I think everyone should own a G10 Native 5. One of Spydercos best in my opinion.

The only glaring deficiency I see is a dragonfly. And I would suggest you try the military. You don't really need it, but you would probably love it. Your tastes seem to run pretty similar to mine and the Millie has become my most carried (non salt) spyderco. It has completely benched my pm2.

Yeah, I think I'm the same way; I don't need a Military, but I'm sure I'd love it. As is though, I'll just stick to my Tenacious. She is my kind of woman.

Of couse bolstered C83 and few Kopas will never hurt. :)

I used to keep track of my top 5. The list kept changing and it was very closely contested. Currently I feel that a top 5 list is not possible. I could maybe have a top 10 list.

I would agree if I could get a Jester in ZDP ;)

And you think you don't need a Military until you've carried one for a while, then you wonder how you lived with sub 3 inch blades.

That's the beautiful thing about spydies... Different knives for different people.

Lol, that's actually a very rational decision! Enjoy that endura and pm2 for awhile! ;)

Great list! If I were to make a list along these lines I would say:

1. Replace Manix 2XL with the Military or Benchmade 710 - similar in blade size to the former, but IMO take up less pocket space and are also lighter. I have tried the Manix 2 XL and find it takes up practically my whole pocket

Paramilitary 2 - Agreed, great all around knife! My favourite EDC at the moment.

Sage 1 - Great knife, but very very expensive in Singapore. I would probably replace with a Caly 3 or Centofante 3

Endura 4 FFG - Unfortunately I have never seen one of these make it over here. I prefer the Stretch or the Manix 2 LW to the Endura.

Pacific Salt SE - I personally do not like serrated knives, but LOVE the salt knives. I have a very beat up Salt 1 and am looking to get a Pacific salt.

Variety is the spice of life!

Bruno
