"Wave" What is it?
I see term like Spyderco Endura 4 Wave Plain Edge Folding Knife, and wonder what it is, wave. Can any one enlighten me? :confused:
Wave is a hook that comes off the top of the spyderhole. It is also known as an emerson opener. It enables the knife to open as youre pulling it from your pocket

its the hook on top of the hole, allows mall ninjas to open their knives faster than a switchblade :D
you can accomplish opening any spyderco like you would a waved knife simply by attaching a zip tie to the hole

From what I've read, it's now referred to as an Emerson Opener because there is a Leatherman Wave.
