my name is Oliver (20y.o) and I'm from Austria. I love knives, especially folding knives. I am a user but also a little bit collector :) . I am very good at grinding/sharpening and I love to do it everytime...
I do own a lot of Spydercos, my new user should be the Tenacious all black version, so I bought it.
I noticed some "anomalies" when disassembling the knife (tagged on the picture).
Are these things normal and do they affect stability when using the knife?
Thank you very much,
greetings from Austria! :) :)
The slot in the liner allows for easier actuation of the lock. Not sure what that extra hole in the blade is for, could be the detent position that holds the blade closed.
Shouldn't cause any problems as that's how the knife is designed.
Am sure Clip is correct regarding the lockbar cut, and that both holes are intentional. I suspect the hole in the blade is there to aid in either finishing of the blade or assembly of the knife at the factory and fits over a pin in a jig/fixture.
Hey guys,
I have the black bladed, and the satin bladed tenacious', and I've never had the black one apart.
My satin blade does not have the extra hole, and the lock bar is solid.
I never noticed the skeletonized lock bar until i saw this post.
Maybe the newer versions have been revised.
My satin Tenacious is one of the early releases.
Just wanted to point out the differences.
Later,
Don
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong.
The Tenacious Anomalies are a really interesting group, I believe they are a transvestite barber shop quartet, that actually shave members of the audience while they sing, quite talented.

That cot out on the lock bar will cause it to break quicker just like a skeletonized pocket clip. I have a Tenacious and the next size under it that I happen to notice the other day that have the pocket clip mounted for tip down carry that puts the jimping on the thumb ramp right against your hand as you go in and out of your pocket. Anyway when I tried to change it for tip down carry the screws won't come out. It appears that the screw heads were stripped on both knives at the factory. These two knives have got to go just as soon as I get somewhere to sell or trade them. I can't imagine why anyone eould mount a clip that eay.
