how about this one ?

i got my new VG-10 Endura and the action was ROUGH, about 1/4 of the way open there were some serious drag.

so, i squirted some metal-glo onto the blade were it rotates into the lock, worked it about 100 times, and it was a little gritty.

put it in the dishwasher (never let the wife put it in the dishwasher, she put it right next to the silverware) and it did a great job of de-funking it.

didn't have any super-lube, so i found the oil that comes with the Walh clippers (!) and gaved it about 3 drops. WOW, the action is glass smooth now, i was shocked too !

do you guys ever get ones that are rough or did i just get an odd-ball (love it now).

haven't tried the dishwasher yet... might just have to once...

If I get a gritty feel, I just give it an oil bath with mineral oil... 3drops ech side of pivot, 2drops inside handle for pivot, 1 drop in lock well(on tang), 1 drop on spring(from inside)... and work the blade as long as the oil still drops.

*Our greatest triumph comes not from NOT falling down, but from getting back up every time.*

Try a can of disc brake cleaning spray! This stuff will not only dissolve, but also blast out grit and it evaporates in seconds. Will not harm the steel or the G-10. Follow up with some Tuf-Glide and you will be in bidnizz!

C-3P0: Thank the maker! This oil bath is going to feel so good. I've got such a bad case of dust contamination, I can barely move!

To clean all those little crevices, I use toothpicks and/or work the action under hot running water.

As a lubricant, I am currently trying out Break Free CLP. If you decide to try Breakfree CLP do not get the spray can as you will end up using way to much, as opposed to the applicator tube on the squeezebottle.

I've found that a can of compressed air, along with a 22ga. hypodermic needle is an excellent way to de-crud an knife. I tried it on my Scout knife and took out more crud than I've ever seen in a blade!

Never underestimate the impossible.
