I prefer the Manix 2. The Manix 2 has more of a variety of models, handle materials, edge types and I think colors to choose from. With a Para 2 you get G-10.

The Manix is a great knife, I am not going to say anything negative about it.
Built solid, feels good in the hands, price is nice, definitely like the manix.

However, love the PM, no contest. Maybe the best ergonomics of any knife.
Compression lock is as good as it gets, action on the PM2 is as smooth as any
as I have seen, knife is light, not too big, not too small, not too heavy, it's just right.

Owned the Manix2 for a year (first Spyderco) and carried it every day. Picked up another, then eventually the blue PM2. Both still find their way into my pocket, M4 Manix or the M390 PM2, but I like the blade shape of the PM2 a little more for fine work and the Manix for not-so-fine. Love both locks, both easily usable as I'm a lefty. The PM2 is actually a little easier since it swings more freely than the M4 or the FRN Manix, but the 154 Manix is hard to beat. Only other difference I find is the PM2 is more comfy to choke up on.

Gotta go with the manix.......cause you can't get a pm anywhere unless you are willing to throw $500 into the bay

I love them both, but for me the Manix 2 is tops and the Para 2 falls into 3rd behind the Military. I love the fine tip you get with the Para 2 and the compression lock is outstanding, however they don't stack up to the overall utility and versatility of the Manix.

The Para 2 is what would've resulted if I had commissioned a custom knife with every preference I have taken into consideration, and a mold of my hand used to design it. Everything about it is just right for me. The CF/S90V sprint is probably the only knife I'll ever need.

The Manix 2 is great too, but I prefer the handle shape, blade shape, and lock of the Para 2.

Tough choice here. I would rotate both through if I had them, but I have gotten rid of 3 PM2's and 2 Manix 2's. But, I now find myself in possession of 2 more Manix's (Mani? :-P). I really enjoy the ergo's on both and the locking mechanisms are great and strong on either of them. The Manix is heavier, but not so much so to me to really be a deciding factor, plus you could pick up the light weight models if you'd prefer those. The blade shape of the PM2 is a little better for the fine cutting works, but the manix tip is pointy enough to do the job as well. I think I would choose the Manix 2 on this one, with the plethora of variations out there to attempt to get a hold of in different steels, colors, and blade grinds. I also light the weight of the manix 2 over the PM2.

I have both and use both equally... but if the Manix2 came standard FFG with skeletenized liners, it would be absolutely no contest.

Wish they'd make a Salt manix.

I think that the M2 is the better knife. Its has a better point, and I like the lock better. Plus I find that the larger palm swell on the PM2 is just downright uncomfortable.

I need to look into a Manix 2 apparently. I think the PM2 is best knife design I've ever owned.
1st Spyderco Endura 1 or 2 stainless steel w/spyderedge. It currently resides at the bottom of a lake.

Current Spydies: Q(HK edition), Blacked out PM2, and Endura 4 Orange FFG.

Wishlist: Military, Caly 3.5 CF, Volloton, and Navaja

The PM2 has better ergonomics. They are second only to the Military.

The PM2 has the better blade profile and tip. Second only to the Military.

In my looking at/fondling of both, and owning neither, I'm inclined to like the CBBL a little better than the Compression. But I think I could warm up to both equally.

So....

Military :P

It's a great knife for sure, but when you ask a question about which is better,
you'll get several in a row saying one, and then the other side will chime in.
A person can make a valid argument that one particular knife is better because
there are more choices in handles steels for that knife, but to me that doesn't
necessarily matter.

If one knife is better, then its better. By that argument if you had a cheap Walmart
knife that you could get in countlees colors and cheap steels with different colors, it
still isn't as good as a better knife. The Manix might have more choices now, because
it has been around longer than the PM2. There are quite a few PM2 sprints out as
well though.

A person wouldn't go wrong with either. It's a fun argument. That being said, IMO the
Paramilitary 2 is a better all around knife. Need proof, go ahead try to buy one somewhere.

I favor the Manix in all configurations: M2, M2 Blue, and XL. The Blue Translucent is now my EDC - maybe my favorite Spyderco.

I like the Manix2 but do wish the handle jimping wasn't there. Also would probably rather a solid lockback than the CBBL. That's not exactly evolution though. :p

I have the Manix2 (DLC S30V), 2xPara2's (DLC and Brown), and a Manix2 LW (Blue translucent) and I would say the PM2 DLC is my favourite. The M2 fits my hand great and it goes in my pocket for a day and the PM2 goes back in. I'm going to reserve final judgement until I can get myself a FFG sprint.

I started out collecting all of the PM2 models. Once I bought my first CPM-M4 Manix, I sold all of my PM2's. The Manix just felt more solid in my hand.

I'll have to try the Titanium PM2 when it comes out though.

While I'm still a newbie to the knife world, I currently have 2 PM2 and 3 Mani 2(2 of them being XL). I have to say, as much as I like the PM2, the Manix has become my favorite. The additional weight of it gives you a reassurance of it being nice and sturdy and up to any task. The XL has become my EDC due to the better steel and being FFG. Not to mention the larger blade just makes it look badass. :)
