#1

Post by Clearcut »

I hate being lefty sometimes because a lot of knives i really like just dont work for me, i really like this new flipper but being lefty i feel that i will never be able to enjoy it since its righty carry only. Do you guys and gals think it will come out in lefty i would even pay a little more if i could get it in lefty

IIRC, Sal has posted that they will consider a LH version after they've had a chance to see how strong sales are. When you look at the current and past Spyderco line of non-ambi knives (so, excluding lockbacks and ball locks which are the same on both sides), the only dedicated left hand knife I remember in recent times was the Military, so the odds are probably not high and, if it happens, it is probably quite a while down the road. Depending on how big an issue it is for you, you might buy it now with the idea of selling the RH version if a LH version becomes available?

Hey clearcut, I've asked the same question. Maybe this thread has some information.

I just can't see demand being suitable to do it. The left hand Millie is being closed out now, if that can't support sales I can't see the Southard doing it.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

It may be more realistic to start training yourself to be ambidextrous :D

I am left handed, but I am actually more used to right hand locking mechanisms as opposed to left hand ones lol. For example, on a framelocks & linerlocks I would just pull in as opposed to pushing out. Doesn't feel awkward at all and it doesn't impede actual use.
