As time goes by I find that if I think that a knife is too nice to carry, I end up selling it after awhile. I had a slew of safe queens at one time. These days if I don't carry a particular knife very often, I end up selling it or giving it away.
I usually won't buy a knife that i know i won't carry and use. This is why i don't own any of the damascus Delicas. That knife though, i would buy and use on special occasions.
That looks really sweet. I can't buy something that I won't carry. The ones that I haven't carried, I've sold or gifted. I feel bad enough that I have a Lava still sitting in the box with the plastic coating still on the handle.
I say carry it, but
I don't buy knives to sit on a shelf or in a box. If I had one of these I would proudly carry it and show it off. That kind of beauty deserves to be seen.
I agree with everyone here so far. I'm surprised there hasn't been at least one reply telling how theirs stays in a display case. I have never bought a knife that I wasn't going to use. I could see how someone could get one for display with no intention of using it. But to have it stay in a box out of sight is a mystery to me. You have a beautiful knife there. I think it almost demands being carried. I don't mean carry it to the construction site you happen to be working at tomorrow. But, if you are going to the office, carry it. If the environment and use won't be damaging then use it IMO.
Suggestion: ALWAYS carry another one for when someone asks to borrow a knife. NEVER loan that knife in the picture to anyone unless you know they know how to treat a knife AND is a friend. Of course, this IMO is such an obvious thing that I've wasted your time reading it. Sorry. :)

May be obvious, but always worth repeating. People ask me to use a knife, and I pull out the ZDP Ladybug on my keychain.
"Why can't I use the one in your pocket?"
"Because you don't have one in yours. Just use the little one, it's plenty sharp."
