R.I.P Dozer, my best friend and companion

#1

Post by Tank »

My dog CH Capriccio's Dark Side of the Moon aka Dozer died unexpectedly Saturday morning He was only 7 years old. He was my best friend, he made me laugh everyday, he was always the one to make you smile during tuff times, You dont realise how much apart of your daily routine your pets are until one is gone. I miss him like crazy and will forever.

Sorry for your loss.

Great picture.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

I feel for you. It doesn't get easier, you just get more used to it. I hope you and your family take solace in knowing that you gave Dozer a great and comfortable life with lots of love.

I feel for you dude. I have had the pleasure and sadness(when they passed on) of many wonderful dogs in my life. A few years ago when my beloved jagger junior passed, I swore never to invest my emotions again on these wonderful creatures who give their unconditional love and devotion to us, imperfect as we are. So I went without dogs for a few years until, I saw some puppies thrown out to die. Well, I couldn't leave them and Francis and Loren have been with me for almost 10 years now. I dread the day that they will leave me.

That's rough man...i think most of us can sympathize and probably tell you a sob story of our own. It took me a long time to warm up to owning another pet in general after losing the family dog when i was about 10. His name was Bear and he was a chow/shepherd mix. We lived in the middle of nowhere in the back woods of KY when i was about 6 when we got him. We were miles even from our closest neighbor, so we decided we needed a guard dog. We trained him to pretty much be a killing machine, and he was good at it. This dog once dragged a barely still alive doe into our yard...we were never sure if the doe was shot and not found by the hunter or if he actually ran it down and killed it himself. Another time a local farmer called us and told us to come get him because he had a cow pinned down in the corner of a pasture and was just playing with it. One time he was even shot twice by a 30.30 because the guy thought he was in fact a bear (he was all black). We took him to the vet and they stitched him up and he was good to go. Years later we moved to Ohio and all of a sudden had neighbors all around us, and Bear didn't fit in. We built him a huge kennel in the back yard but it wouldn't hold him, so we chained him up inside the kennel. He ended up getting loose and killing another neighborhood dog and my mother had seen enough. He was too dangerous so we put him down. I was young and didn't really understand at the time so it tore me up. To me he was the big gentile lovable dog who let me use him as a pillow in the yard on sunny days, and even let the family cat lay on his back and sleep (no lie) but he was absolutely vicious to anyone other than the immediate family.

Anyway...it's a shame how short the life of a pet can be and it hurts like **** when they pass, but remember the good times and know that if the big guy could tell you some how he'd tell you to not feel so bad and to keep your chin up. I'm sure you gave him a great 7 years.

Very sorry to hear about your dog.

Any idea why he passed away so unexpectedly? (Hope you don't mind the question. My apologies if I'm being out of line.)

Sorry to hear of your loss. That is a most impressive picture of him. Looks like the photographer got a good focus on his eyes.

Sorry for you loss, John. I've lost more than a few dogs and cats over the years, so I know the pain you're going through.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. These are traumatic for everyone in the family including other pets. We truly see these guys as parts of our family's here in the US, and mourn for them as if they are people.

In my case when Finn goes it will hurt badly. He's pretty much the last of the family I have left that I see. He will be 10 in December and has almost departed a few times over the last couple of years. My last Mastiff only lived 5 and a half years.

I sometimes think he stays around because he doesn't want to leave me alone.

Take care of yourself John. He would want you to.

So sorry to hear about Dozer. I feel for you. We have 7 dogs and love them more
than we do most people. I get choked up everytime I think of some that I have
lost in the past.
The first thing that I do in the morning when I get up is check on all of them and
they are the first thing that I see when I pull into thw driveway when I get home.
They are right there waiting to greet me and make my life better. No matter how
bad the day went or what has happened, I know that I have my dogs there to
make me remember what is really important in life.

So sorry. Take care.
