Cutlery Shoppe has the south fork for a nice price if anyone is interested. It's listed on home page with the price.

It's cheaper from seller unitedoutdoors on ebay (200k+ feedback) when you factor in CS's $9 shipping

I think it is sad that such a great knife, with such a good steel and Heat Treatment such as the Southfork is not selling quicker. Folks don't know what they are missing .....

CS used to have free shipping code. Did it stop working? Just wondering

I can appreciate the great ergos, the fantastic steel, etc...but $236 and change before shipping is one **** of a lot of money for a knife outside of the custom realm (and you can find a **** fine custom at those prices as well). Just sayin'...

It's a pretty knife, but I don't like the style (I've found I prefer blades with drop or clip point to get the point below the spine), and it's too expensive for my budget. So no South Fork for me...

I had a great opportunity this summer to use the South Fork for extended periods of time, and I have to say that you are basically getting a custom knife for a fraction of the cost. Add in Spyderco's great quality control and warranty, and you have one winner-of-a-blade. This was one of my first production fixed blades from Spyderco, along with the excellent Puukko, and from the generous hunk of S90V to the perfect handle ergos, this knife performs well above the $200 I purchased it for back in July. I made a concerted effort to use the South Fork and Puukko hard (but not abused) on two major outings, and the same qualities that made me fall in love with Spyderco's folders hooked me on these two blades. I find they work well as a balanced set, and I give them both my highest recommendation. You won't be disappointed with this knife, especially for its price! :spyder: :D :spyder:

I use mine daily in the kitchen these days. :)

From the testing that I did I feel it would make an excellent all around hunting/field knife for people who want a high performance blade that will just keep on cutting.

I can't praise the South Fork enough. I do hope that this model sells well. I would like to get my son one when he is old enough. I would love to see this one stick around for a long long time. It is trully a great design and a performer.

Stupid forums, why the heck do I keep comming back here. I just ordered a second South Fork for the wife and our kitchen. Thanks a lot Ankerson. :)

LOL this forum is a dangerous place! I bought my 2nd South Fork back when Howe's had them for about $221, just couldn't pass it up even though I haven't even used my first one yet! :) Definitely going to be a user, not a safe queen, but I haven't needed to butcher any bulls yet :D .

If I could afford it, I would be all over the South Fork at that price. As it is, I may have to settle for a Moran if I want a Spyderco fixed blade.

There is nothing wrong with a Moran either, that's for sure! I think it is one of the better fixed-blade deals to be found. It's not S90V, but is a *very* good slicer and VG10 is decent! Probably not the best for batoning firewood (not full tang), but I'm not going to baton with my southforks either.

rdoloos,

Perhaps settle was the wrong word, as it has always looked like a nice knife to me. Just not as nice as a South Fork ;-)
