Any Yojimbo 2 Meat Tests Yet?
Just curious as to whether anyone has done any meat tests with the Yojimbo 2 yet.

Doc Snubnose has compiled a result of meat tests done with various knives. Mike Janich does his "porkman" cutting demonstrations with knives that he recommends in his MBC.
Meat is quite easy to pierce with even a pencil but most "meat tests" are done to reveal how a particular knife or design will work(how much damage it inflicts) when slashing or doing pressure cuts. A lot of "meat tests" will also simulate clothing.

based off that description of a meat test. As a practitioner who understands dynamics of a cut, the Yojimbo 2 will EXCEL! Thanks for the video chuck_roxas45. If I recall correctly, Dr. Snubnose did some pretty extensive testing using a similar method with a number of Spydercos a few years ago. I think they involved both cuts and thrust/cuts. The original Yojimbo did extremely well in the tests and was one of the top performers. I'm wondering if the Yojimbo 2 would do as well. I would think so.

I'm thinking the Yo2 would actually do pretty well too. I did some trial cutting when I got mine a few months ago. I don't do meat tests however(too expensive). I just wrap some sacks around a pole and wrap with packing tape(that's my cutting dummy) and it did quite well for a 3 inch knife.gnlw wrote:Thanks for the video chuck_roxas45. I would love to meat test a Yo2...I did not purchase one...but from a design point of view...I'm thinking the Yo1 would be the better performer....but till I have one in hand for testing...I can't be 100% sure......results would be interesting to say the least.

Honestly, It feels like a good martial arts knife and it is proving to be an AMAZING EDC! Seriously, it is making my M390 pm2 collect dust.
Do you still have the yo1 test?

I thought it did well enough when it was open doc but then I don't have Yo1 to compare it to. I defer to your experience doc. Ay capt, to be honest the design does not interest me.
