Only 1!...for now
well as the title says i need to start budgeting myself being that i am going to university next year, though the addiction does not end!
I am looking at the balance CF and the Cricket GF also the dodo in orange g10. I can get them all for reletivly the same price except for the dodo which is about 40$ more.
Let me know what you guys think i should buy...for now that is :D

Get the Dodo while you can. It will acrue far more value collector-wise than will the other 2 you mentioned. All of them are great blades but the Dodo is without a doubt the winner in that Group.
On your fixed blade wish list you should add the Southfork.

Buy what you like the most. Can't go wrong with that.
:spyder: Centofante3 (C66PBK3), ParaMilitary2 (C81GPCMO), Endura4 (C10P), GrassHopper (C138P), Military (C36GPCMO), Perrin PPT (C135GP), Squeak (C154PBK), Dragonfly 2 Salt (C28PYL2), Military M390 CF (C36CFM390P), R (C67GF), ParaMilitary2 CTS-XHP (C81GPOR2), Tuff (C151GTIP), Ladybug & Perrin Street Bowie (FB04PBB)being the newest.
As BH49 mentioned, you are already a little late. The CF was discod a couple months back, The dodo is already sold out as well, meaning both these knives are getting rare, and generally speaking, ebay and the second hand market are your only choicestahomazz wrote:thanks alot for the feed back!

I'd first determine what you are primarily going to be doing with the knife - then pick the Spydie that best matches your intended uses. Don't get me wrong, I have yet to meet a Spydie that I didn't like - but just a handful of get the day-in-day-out usage.
For instance, I would *never* bring my Dodo on a camping trip. The tip of the blade is too dangerous and fragile for most outdoors tasks. I normally take a Dragonfly 2 FRN and my trusty Para2. When I'm in the office, I usually carry a small pocket knife unclipped, like the FRN DragonFly2, the Squeak, or Manbug. For weekend around the house chores, I carry a wider variety of knives - but mostly either my Para2 or my Gayle Bradley. If these are too big (like going out for dinner), I pick the Chaparral, ZDP-189 Delica, or G10 UKPK.
You get the picture. Make sure you get a first Spydie that fits with the highest percentage of your intended uses. Personally, I'd look at the Delica - it is probably the single-most useful knife I've ever owned. I carried one almost non-stop for almost 15 years. Spyderco even offers repair kits for it in case something breaks.
Cheers!

thanks so much guys! i really appreciate it. Once i actually got to see and hold the spydies first hand i was not as thrilled as i thought i would be, especially with the price. when i got to my local shop i instantly fell inlove with the techno. I thought the ergos would be terrible but it fit my hand sooo perfectly.
time to startr saving a couple more dollars:P
