eBay, where you'll pay a premium. Otherwise, we're all in the same boat waiting for backorders.

The same thing happened when the Para 2 was first released. They were so popular that none of the dealers with decent prices could keep them in stock. IIRC, it was at least six months before you could easily find them in stock. Take a look at CS right now. Here we are over a year later and three out of four production Para 2s are on backorder. KC also seems to only have one out of four of the regular production models in stock. GPK has two out of the four. It's simple supply and demand. Supply is low and demand is high. I expect the Yojimbo 2, like the Para 2, will be hard to come by for the foreseeable near-future.

Howe's has a the cheapest preorder up for the next run I think... that way you can at least save yourself a spot (hopefully). Have to pay a 10$ deposit. Tell you what... I sure am glad I put my preorder in as soon as they showed up, I had no idea these things were gonna fly off the shelf like this. I'm seriously considering putting in a preorder for a backup now so that I don't have to wait through a list to get a replacement should the need arise...

Anyway, here's the link to the pre-order. I know it's not exactly what you were looking for... but I hope it helps.

Their Yojimbo page says:
This Item is a Pre-Order, Not available for shipping right now
It also mentions multiple times that it's a pre-order, both in the item title as well as below the "More Info" button.

Now what is it you're smoking again? :p

There must be something wrong with me cos I just don't get why everyone likes the Yojimbo so much. :(

One of the best self defense knives that I have seen in a long time. I like having a dedicated SD knife, one that I don't use for anything else, just there in case I need it. It's 4MM thick, built like a tank, the wharnie blade, filipino style grip with thumb on the top of the blade and handle configuration makes it feel like an extension of the hand. When my wife and boys' life may be on the line (I always like to prepare for the worse and hope it never happens) I want something that I can completely trust.

Michael Janich is one of the top self defense gurus in the world and this is something that he had dedicated his life to perfecting. That's good enough for me.

Thank you for explaining. I am no martial artist and my knife fighting knowledge is limited to what I have seen on YouTube. Personally, I would prefer the Civilian over the Yojimbo for personal defense. The only reason I am not buying one is aside from SD, that knife is useless to me in my environment for EDC. I suppose the Yojimbo could easily be a SD and an EDC blade.

Like you, I plan for the worst and pray nothing happens when I am with my wife and kids when we are out someplace. Though I dont wanna admit it openly, it is why I carry a mid sized blade or two. Agree also on having trustworthy tools at hand for any situation.

I know I won't buy a Yojimbo2 yet. But you have sparked my curiosity and that usually ends up with me doing what I set out not to do.

Stay sharp.

Insightful as always Bal. I must say the Yojimbo 2 is a nice addition next to my Glock 26 for my SD carry.....
