How much of a difference do you notice with the flatgrind compared to the sabregrind ladybus when cutting?

Does it make a big difference with the blade that small?

I don't noticed much of a difference between the 2 because I never cut anything that is super tough with a Ladybug.

To me it seems to "bite" into wood more easily when I am making shavings, but I don't know how much of that is psychological because of my expectations.
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

I haven't noticed any difference from the blade profile when cutting, but I have noticed that I have never seemed to be able to dull the zdp ladybug at all. About the only difference I ever noticed was when the vg-10 one was dull, it didn't open mail as easily/cleanly. Every time the zdp ladybug opens envelopes/packages like a fresh razor blade. I still sharpen the zpd ladybug when I sharpen the rest of my other knives. The ZDP just goes from sharp to extremely sharp while the others go from slightly dull to sharp. (I have never mastered getting a scary sharp edge on S30V...that might explain why I like vg-10 and H1 so much.)

I highly reccomend the ZDP ladybug, Great little knife. I only wish it was as rust resistant as H1 so I could use it on my work keyring. (I work in a warehouse and few knife blades stand up to my sweat.)

If you haven't tried Tuf-Glide and cloth on anything you have problems with in your pocket you may want to try it. I used Tuf-Glide on an M4 blade (non-stainless steel) then tried to put a patina on it. That means I TRIED to make it rust. No luck. I believe the Tuf-Glide protects against corrosion well enough that it is hard to cause corrosion intentionally. Also, I haven't had one spot of corrosion on anything I use it on since I started using it.

Just a thought. BTW, I got the H1 Ladybug for corrosion resistance but I think I would have been just as safe using Tuf-Glide on any other steel I might have chosen.

That matches with my observations, comparing my ZDP Ladybug and my VG-10 D4, for casual whittling in the backyard. The only drawback I'm finding is the smaller size of the Ladybug, for any continuous use, I can't manipulate it as easily in hand as my Delica4.

A cutting test on cardboard with my ZDP Ladybug sent me straight to Cutlery Shoppe to order a ZDP Endura.
