*fake sebenza, beware

Post by DCDesigns »

Ok, I had never heard of a Sebenza 21 made with D2 steel. Here is an ebay seller with no feedback selling one now, that I had bid up actually, until I did a little research... Now I have canceled my bids...

The link to the fake on Ebay is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... _500wt_944

The link that made me immediately cancel my bids:

http://www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/8043 ... knife.html

A quote from that link: this chris reeve sebenza style D2 steel 60HRC folding knife are make from the knife fans club.it is make in my country, just make hundreds pcs, the knife very nice and very very sharp ,worth you get it,thanks.

also, note the incredibly ironic photo posted on the bottom of that link of some guy painting a horse to look like a zebra...

THAT is what is so scary. I almost didnt catch it... I just thought, oh must be an even rarer version. I wouldnt find it hard to believe if this thing sold for premium sebbie prices...

Saying "style" after that is so freaking deceptive... I also sent the links to CRK

Wow, that is incredibly close. This makes my blood boil. Perhaps we might see a new design soon. Reeve's one piece knives went the way of the dodo after he found knock offs floating around. Thanks for the heads up.

I wish that there was something that could be done to these asses. I mean the ones making the fakes knives, not the ones getting stripes painted on them.

Well that seller is already down to a 50% feedback rating with a negative, but not for that knife yet.

I wonder if there is really titanium or just bead blasted steel. After all, there isn't much you can do if you are ripped off, isn't it?

No, I had to say these are not badly made knives and in fact are well made. So, yes people should beware even more so, I've heard of buyers being taken with these counterfeits already. Even though this video isn't in English you can see for yourself.

I dont care how well they are made, its still a counterfeit. The fact that it is well made is even more of a concern. I have spoken to chris about these, and as you can imagine, he was not happy to hear about them...

Truly scary. I can't tell a difference unless you put it side to side with a real one.
