Discontinued list
When does the yearly discontinued knives list come out? I thought it was around October.

It seemed that last year there were a bunch that I thought would be discontinued, many of which were. Looking through this year's catalog, I see a lot less that I imagine would get cut. Most in the catalog are either long-term classics or really new models.
My discontinued predictions for this year:
Caspian/Capsian 2 Salt (both already announced as discontinued)
Leafstorm
Rock Lobster
Wouldn't surprise me (due to lack of chatter about these on the forums):
Large Lum
Ti UKPK
CF UKPK (confirmed by Sal)
Foliage Green Ladybug
Urban Wharncliff
Spyderhawk Salt PE
Tasman Salt PE
SS D'Fly
CF Balance (originally a sprint IIRC, but seems to have been given an extension, possibly to keep the model in the lineup until the SS version was released?)

I am gonna have to stock up if the SS D'Fly gets let go... that and the SS Ladybug are my go to gift knives, inexpensive and you can inscribe initials on them for that personal touch :) .
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

If we are gonna guess, I would say anything outside of the Salt series that has a serrated edge will probably get the axe.

True, but wasnt this line only supposed to last for a little while? Did spyderco extend it, or plan on keeping indefinitly? As popular as it is, I wont be surprised if they discountinue them eventually. Theyll probably make room for a new line of knives that pay respect to knife maker greats. I love my new sage 1 btw.1623 wrote:I can't imagine there being any truth to that considering the overall popularity of the Sage line; especially the Sage 2.
Manix 2 DLC, Delica 4 FFG, Ladybug 3,County Comm H1 Ladybug 3 , Endura 4 FFG G10, C94 UKPK Leaf, Atlantic Salt, Military Camo DLC,Sage 1 Para 2 DLC, Delica 4.

Unless things have changed, the plan was for each Sage variant to stay in the lineup as long as sales justified keeping it there. I'd be surprised if the Sage II is selling poorly.Drkknight614 wrote:True, but wasnt this line only supposed to last for a little while? Did spyderco extend it, or plan on keeping indefinitly? Version 3 seems to be the least popular, judging solely by chit chat and posts about the Sage line as a whole.Blerv wrote:If any Sage is selling poorly I would be shocked.
My guess would be that if there is one on the chopping block, this would be it. That said, ceasing production on it after Blackie Collins passing doesn't seem like something Spyderco would do at present.
