The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

Three's a good number. The third one was the charm for my wife as we finally had a daughter - she's in college now.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

I almost took my wood-handled Tenacious, but my wife said no. :) Toby was born at 10:45 this morning, 8 lbs 4 oz. Everyone is doing well.

Congratulations!
Off topic, but I wonder why most Thomas Jefferson quotes I come across are false. I don't even have to look your sig up since it begins with a modern expression. Given all of Jefferson's baggage, why does he usually get picked on instead of Adams or Washington?

Thanks everyone. Everyone is doing well. Hoping for some sleep tonight.
Sequimite- Is that not Thomas Jefferson? I used it as my sig more because I liked the quote than for who might have said it. :) Thanks for the headsup.

I just don't understand why when people send around phony quotes they so often attribute the quote to Jefferson. Jefferson is the guy who had a bunch of illegitimate children with his slave, talked about freedom but unlike Washington and others, never freed any of his slaves including his own children, elevated the art of lying about political opponents to new heights, referred to the Bible as a pile of dung, went spectacularly bankrupt because he was a spendthrift, etc. If it wasn't for the Declaration of Independence and the Louisiana Purchase (I guess the spendthrift part came in handy there) he would be an historical nonentity.nabobz wrote:Sequimite- Is that not Thomas Jefferson? edit-(forgot about the Virginia constitution and the University of Virginia - "nonentity" went too far)
Sorry to change the subject on such a happy day.
