Spotted Tip-Up Carry Civilian Models

#1

Post by Isaeus »

Greetings, everyone:

I happened to notice several pictures of Civilians online that included the option of right-hand tip-up carry as well as right-hand tip-down carry. Here's an example: http://cgi.ebay.com/Spyderco-Civilian-G ... 5630cc88e2. I am happy to see this, as I prefer tip-up carry, and I'm wondering if this is a new feature, as the description on Spyderco.com still lists them as tip-down carry only. Perhaps this new feature is new to me only, however, and has been long known by most Spyderco enthusiasts :) .

At any rate, I hope this option soon finds its way onto the handles of the Military model as well.

Cheers,

I had a Civilian with the carry options that would be probably about 2years old now. I have a M4 Military that had a low rider clip put on of for tip up carry...I took it off and bought a regular Millie clip to put back on it. It just works better with the Military and I usually prefer tip up.

My Civilian is about 1 year old and has tip up or down carry. But I wish it could be left hand carried as well.

Something about this thread gave me a daydream about a waved tip up Civilian....man just think of snapping that nasty blade out of your pocket, ala waved Delica/Endura style.

Vaguely remember seeing one a while back, either here or on BladeForums, that someone had waved by cutting into the Spyderhole. To me, it was double facepalm material, but YMMV. :D
