As noted in a thread I started about the large version, the Chinese Folder is one of the most aesthetically pleasing knife designs I have seen. I have always been drawn to it. I just wanted a larger version (which I just ordered).

As for carbon fiber or Ti... Myself it is hard to pass up carbon fiber ANYTHING.

However both look good, so a coin toss maybe in order.

Out of all variants I like original green (not FG) the most. Nice color.

For me it's the ZDP-189 black Almite sprint.

The coating micro scratches but the steel it just too good. In the long wide leaf blade it's a slicing dream.

Of the current variants, I'd definitely choose the Carbon Fiber. Great new material, beautiful, and a good price. I'm probably going to get one sometime in the first half of this year.

I'm with you on that. I used to have an original green and now that I'm a little more "well to do" I'd like to have it back. Oh well, I do have the Foliage Green and the Carbon Fiber versions now. To answer the original question, hands down go with the CF over the Titanium.

I love my CF Lum - it's a great looking knife, and an excellent worker!

I love the blade on it - super sharp and excellent grind.

Personally I think that the lum chineese folders are some of the butt ugliest knives I've seen :p . But besides that i can see why so many people love them for their cutting capabilities.

Between Ti and CF i would definitely say go with CF

I find the handle too thin and the ergos to be horrible...but that is just my brief experience playing with it in the store a bit.

That carbon fiber is great looking on the Lum. If I was considering a Lum, that would be it for sure.

If you like the Chinese Lum design, I would recommend the CF version. I had the TI version and sold it. To me, the TI did not fit the look of the knife and the smooth handles had a stainless steel look to them that made the knife look "cheap". I think the Lums look best with dark handles contrasting the satin blade. My TI Lum also had an off centered blade which did not appeal to me. Other people with TI Lums are mentioned this issue. Not sure if this is common with the Almite or CF Lums.

Meh. It's a very beautiful design, but it just dosen't fit my hand well. The larger one might feel better, but have yet to see one In person.

Get the Ti. It is the handle material that Bob Lum used on the originals, and the titanium run is only 500 units. Once gone, they're gone. The CF is in ongoing (if low volume) production, so you can get a CF one later.

I have the CF and the large. The CF is my favorite Spydie to just open and close. It is a slippery little guy though. It's the tuxedo of the Lum's imho. The large has the best ergos for me. I'd go for the Ti for the same reasons markg and Carlos said. Get the CF later.
