I received a replacement Paramilitary 2 from Spyderco's Warranty and Repair department yesterday. I've been waiting on it for a couple of months as it was backordered. However, given that I now received my replacement, I would assume a new batch may be on its way to dealers as well.

They forgot to tap some holes for the clip in the right-hand tip-up carry position. When they received it they decided to just send a brand new knife instead of drilling the missing holes.

I'm sure the original knife will end up in next year's seconds sale and somebody who doesn't care about the missing holes will score a great deal.

Probably because, as discussed in one of the unfortunate food fights over the Lums recently :( CF can be hard to drill without leaving some rough fibers and/or having chipping around the holes. Waiting is a pain but Spyderco did the right thing

Last I heard from a dealer was right after the new year. That's encouraging news that spyderco had a new one to replace yours

I had also sent in my Para2 for a warranty replacement in mid October (had a small crater in the bevel) and was contacted by Spyderco two weeks later that a replacement would be sent end of November or early December. My Para2 arrived yesterday.

If I'm not mistaken, the Para2's with the missing holes were G-10 not carbon fiber. So it wouldn't be a carbon fiber drilling issue.

Not to mention that it sounds like the scales and steel liners were probably both drilled, and the issue was that one or more of the RH/TU holes in the steel liner were not tapped (threaded).

Maybe it's just me but I don't think I recall seeing folks have such a hard time receiving a regular production model as this one. Sure glad I snagged mine when I did. To those waiting....it's worth it. Now, if I could ever get my CF from KC all would be good.

In my case they even forgot to drill the liners and G10. There were no holes whatsoever! Very strange.

That is definitely strange. I have a few knives where one or more of the holes in clip mounting positions other than the the one favored by the factory are not tapped, but never saw one with the holes missing.

I just got an email today that mine shipped out but I checked and they list it as "pre-order" still so I'm guessing they didn't have enough after shipping out all the orders they already had.

Just order it somewhere if you want one and wait. That's what I did. I waited a long time but now it's on it's way. :)
