Para2 regular production ETA

Post by toms65 »

I know we heard that the regular s30v para2 was coming out shortly after the first sprint run, but i read on the forum that the sprint has come and gone, does anybody have any concrete info or a better timeline for the s30v, ive had my pre-order for about a month now, waiting is hard, lol, anything anyone can offer would be great. :spyder:

The sprint run hasn't come and gone yet :) . A small first wave was shipped, and the majority hasn't yet. There is talk from the dealers that they have some on the way, so perhaps they'll be fully out and done soon.

Hopefully that means the regular version is coming within the next few weeks (but that's based on nothing).

well that makes much more sense, but here is another question, how many knives does spyderco make on a daily basis? why make a small wave then make another, why not just release to dealers all at the same time, ive only been collecting spyderco's for less than a year so i have yet to see this portion when they release the next years models, is this the norm for spyderco?

I sent in a Para2 in for a warranty issue in early October and got a call back a few weeks ago stating a replacement will be sent to me late November to early December.

Early December is the best bet...I believe what Eric meant was the standard will come out a few weeks after the INITIAL release of the sprint, which wasn't more than a few weeks ago. I'm really looking forward to this one...I will be so pumped when I get the email saying it's shipping! I've had my pre-order since July or early August...I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

PS-From my experience in the last 6 months or so of being a spyder-head, there really isn't much warning before a new product/new run drops. Usually the first indication is an excited post by someone who notices it's in stock, got theirs in the mail, or sometimes Jess from Spydieguys shows new products in his videos right before they become available.

Ah, crap, I get paid tomorrow and it'll be sold out by then. I can't believe I'll miss it by a measly 24 hours.

What is "kc"? If it is knifecenter they have not even filled their preorders yet.

So, you are saying that Knife Center sold some of the CF Para 2s last night on a "first come first served" basis and they have not even filled there massive preorder list yet (and probably will not)?

Perhaps they received new inventory today and, after counting out their preorders, still had some left over to sell.

I called. They do not have any in stock right now. My order has not been filled and they do not know when it will be.

Hmm, that's a little ridiculous. I really hope they did not sell some when they have unfilled pre-orders.

Until there is clarification that "kc" does not mean knifecenter, it sure looks like that is exactly what they did.

Read SmoothOne25s posts. They were sold first come, first serve. He has a NEW order number.
