Hope so, I have one on the way. Don't know if they're really "made for an un-named government agency" or not, but am sure they're real Ladybugs.

Yeah, these are just extras from a military order. On youtube, a channel named "Cutlerylover" picked one up and is planning on doing a review in the near future.

Dang! I thought we completed my son's collection of the current ladybug! I haven't thought about it until now but his stash of spydercos cost more than mine.

You're assuming they're military, could be Forest Rangers or corrections officers. Come to think of it, they could even the sanitation workers of some large city. They didn't say it was an unnamed Federal agency. :D

I like the Ladybug and all, but it seems like an odd knife for a government contract...

Unless they cut the budget and had to cut the size of knives ordered. ;)

Woah! Anyone notice the all-screw construction?
The price is a bit steep for me, but I really hope they are planning on switching to screw construction for all their Ladybug models.

Hey Smooth,

Here's the pic from their site. The front appears to have the usual H1 logo, while this is the back.

Oh, I see what you mean. Won't open for me either.

The writing is CAGE 5VKB6, which is County Comm's Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code.

Found the code by typing "County Comm" into the company line of the government's search site: http://www.bpn.gov/bincs/begin_search.asp

Odds are very high it comes in a plastic bag with a paper insert with CAGE code and possibly an NSN. <- Turns out this does come in a regular Spyderco box; see post #18 below.

As Rambo noted above with his link the ladybug does come in a box with a product code of LORP3H1 "Ladybug Salt Orange" Date Code of "JJ"

that video looks like it shows a clean blade (no markings), I am so glad I ordered two. I hope the torx design bleeds over to the standard ladybugs.
