Knifemaker

While browsing the forum last night I came across a conversation that a couple of members were having about a guy they had just ordered a custom knife from. There were links to pictures on his facebook page and they were talking about how great he was at keeping in contact and e mailing pics of the knife and such and now I can't emember the guys name. Does anyone have any idea or did I miss out? I'm thinking I may need to have something made.

I am in somewhat the same boat, in that I would like to have a number of rough blades hollow saber ground. If anyone knows of someone in the USA that would do a good job at that, I'd sure appreciate the heads up. Thanks again, Dan

There are MANY guys that fit that description. There are lots of guys that can make FANTASTIC knives. Search around and find the one that is willing to develop the sort of relationship you want...everyone is different so you need to find the person that produces the sort of knife you want the way you want and will keep you informed as much as you want.

This forum is for Spyderco knives and doing business is prohibited. There are better places to search for custom makers. Pick a search engine and begin your quest...take your time, when you find the right person, you will know.

Well I guess I asked the wrong question...my thing was they were talking about a guy on here in a "I got mine coming check out the pics" and I looked at his pics and I know he's a guy who posts on here and I wanted to talk to him some about how he does what he does and what types of knives he makes but I can't for the life of me remember who he was.

Perhaps you were thinking of the "custom" grips made for the Spyderco Mule? The knife is a Spyderco knife and many people will customize the knife for their own needs?

Perhaps here?

Thanks Ken, but no that's not it. I suppose I'll just wait and see if he turns up in another thread or something and if not...well then I suppose it wasn't meant to be right?

Did you do a search on the forum using keywords custom and order, or something to that effect?

As to makers who regularly post their work here, Butch Harner is the first one that comes to mind.
