Yep, did that...actually have several of the paper copies floating around the house...and there is no indication that these are limited. But at least one of the big vendors has posted in a way that implies these are limited.

I think the black bladed Para-Military and Military are sold at a higher price than their other models.

Yes, however I will probably buy one just because I have all the others. It's just a shame it didn't come out like the prototype they had at the show with FFG and S30V :mad:

Checking out one of the online sellers, I see that MSRP is $40 more, and I see that the retail is $26 more,... doesn't seem out of line for a new product. Manix2 has been around for a good long while and it wouldn't surprise me if they sold for quite a bit more when they first came out. Plus, still same price as a paramilitary2 for more knife. At any rate, I read somewhere that sourcing the DLC coating is a pain and more expensive than one might think.

I think that I'll have to wait a while anyway--the veritable deluge of expensive knives recently has really strained the budget--paramilitary2, balance, caly3.5, persian sprint, blue bone delica,... add a pair of damascus mules,... ouch!

yikes 800 bux in 7 days! i had no idea until this arrived...didnt have a lot of extra cash so i used another cc. 2 mules, 2 persians, a manix 2 , 2 kiwi 9 ukpk and a jester and 2 calanders and a usb (i got the black w red letters and then called and ordered all 5 colors...they're on the way) i heard the jbr is coming soon too. 2 weeks....? sal?
wow spyderco is on its game!
i love this knife. its so smooth and flows well. smooth action closing and openig and a smooth blade and the perfection is right in front of you. the blue, cf, pink, green, 154cm, and now black manix 2 to finish the set!
its night time and the camera wont show the details. all you'll see is black :rolleyes:

jimping/filing down the back, half way :D :cool:
