Knife Carry Laws in Spain??

#1

Post by Pneumothorax »

Im in Barcelona for a medical convention exhibiting our products and of course packed a knife in my equipment box. To be safe, I brought a slippie Urban Wharni - small, non-locking, NKP friendly orange. I planned to just use it in set up and take down of my booth, but Im carrying it around in pocket (not clipped). Now Im wondering what the laws are around here. Any one with any quick info? Not likely Im going to get busted for anything, but just wnat to make sure Im not breaking any laws in the process.

I worked in Spain for a while and, like Hellhound's link says anything under 11cm that wasn't double edged or an auto was fine. 11cm is about 4.3"

I worked with a few museums in Madrid and they were quite knife friendly. They all had metal detectors at the door but the guards were always super polite and helpful when I told them I was carrying a knife (I used a Para a lot). They just pointed me to storage lockers in the lobby or something like that where I could leave the knife before going into the museum.
