Why no Sal logo?

#1

Post by SpydieZ »

I just ordered a powder blue stretch with zdp-189 steal. I liked my carbon fiber version so much that I decided I needed another. After doing some research I noticed that some of these models have sals logo like on the caly 3 or ukpk... But then I've also seen some with the logo on the opposite side of the spyder.. Does anyone know why?

I think sometimes they forget to have the maker put the stamp on.

Don't know why one side or the other.

Maybe they'll become incredibly valuable collector's items, like those postage stamps that they printed upside down or the wrong colour :D
My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)

This was questioned a while back and Sal said he forgot to specify it. Since he's now aware of that, perhaps some future runs will have it.

Not really. The first run definitely did not have it. If the latest run still doesn't then none do. Otherwise all since it was added will have it. If it has not yet been added, any runs before it is added will not have it, all runs after that will. If it's never added, none will have it. Granted, there's some degree of uncertainty as to if or when it will happen, but there's nothing random about it, it's all logical and orderly.

Well I got it in and it turns out it does have sals logo. When I said random I was referring to the batch that your knife comes from. When someone purchases a knife online it's impossible to tell if the one you recieve had been sitting in their inventory for a year or a day. That's what I ment my random sorry for being unclear! :)

I don't know if this is true  . The box has a production date code on it, can't remember how to break the code.

Where did you buy yours at? I wasn't even aware that the logo was on the new run of knives.

I picked one up the day they released, and have been considering picking up another before they switch to the BRG color. May have to try and get one with a logo.

True, and glad to hear it has returned. :D Of course, if you live in the USA, there's always the option of giving your business to a shop that you can call and ask them to check for something like the SAL mark before placing your order.

Did any of you purchase them from YCS? I just ordered one and I'd like it to have Sal's logo on it. It would be my first...

Hopefully it probably will have the logo, the stock at YCS seems to go pretty fast
