Para-Military2 - Correction & ETA

#1

Post by TazKristi »

There was unfortunately a misprint in the Supplemental catalog. At this time the Para-Military2 will only be offered in a PlainEdge.

Currently the ETA (remembering that it is an estimate) for the C81GP2 is Jul/Aug

Our apologies for the confusion regarding the edge configurations.

Wow, it's amazing how good even a vague time frame feels. This and the Emerson Gentleman Jim are both absolute, "if I only buy two things this summer, these are they", sell off favorite books if i have to, must have these knives. In other words...I can't wait. Very cool.

Why only PE? Are the spydie edges hard (expensive) to do? Or just time consuming so would delay a release further? I hope to see some options in the future.
1. Endura Black G2 SE, 2. Endura4 VG-10 SE, 3. Endura4 ZDP SE, 4. Caly3 ZDP PE, 5. Manix2 154CM CE, 6. Manix2 HXP FFG PE, 7. Delica ZDP SE, 8. Tasman Salt SE, 9. Ladybug VG-10 SE, 10. Byrd Crossbill, 11. Military S30V CE, 12. Blue Rescue 93mm FRN, 13. Grey Delica VG-10 FFG, 14. Blue Endura4 VG-10 FFG!

I don't think it's either of those. More likely it's just that Spyderco's experience has shown that, aside from a few models, serrated blades sell poorly compared with plain edge.

Question, will the newer version be replacing the older version or will both be sold?

I was really looking forward to getting this knife in SE. Of all the new models coming out the SE Para was going to be my first choice. If sales are the reason why Spyderco isn't releasing it I can understand. I may end up waiting for the Caly 3.5.

For some reason my brain keeps telling me that this is going to come out in a CTS-XHP sprint, but maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Thanks for the update Kristi. I hope people will be understanding if something holds the knife back a little bit.

Delica and Endura are great knives! They're the low priced crack samples that'll get you hooked on spyderco! Feed the need!

A sprint in orange with CTS-XHP would be a must buy for me. Or S90V.

Thanks for the update, though I am disappointed that the knife won't initially be offered in SE. I hope sales or customer request will warrant this edge option in the future.
