I did the first (at least as far as I know) review of Mike's knives for Tactical Knives back around 98 or 99. They were excellent and showed real insight into the application of the chisel grind. When Mike read my article and realized that I understood his designs, we hit it off pretty well. When the article hit the newsstands and he ended up with several years worth of orders in about a month, he asked me if I'd like to design a knife for him. That became the custom Ronin.
Here's a link to that story and some pics on my web site:

I later designed a full-sized combat knife called the Daigoro (after the son in the "Baby Cart from ****" series of movies):

To my knowledge, only two of those were ever made.
Mike is a very talented maker and I like him a lot. In addition to the Ronins and Daigoro, I also own a couple of his other pieces and the quality is top notch. As for the whole Snodyland thing,I admire his abilities at viral marketing and the following he's developed and wish him all the best. At the same time, I don't play in that playground.
Buy his knives. You won't be sorry.
Stay safe,
Mike

Too much flash for me, but if you can back it up..........good for him.

I like Snody knives very much. The only one I have was a gift to me. The sheath is from Lifter's leather.

His work is excellent, but I cannot commit to buying is knives. There is something that makes me feel like I am contributing to an episode of "Gangland" on the history channel!
I do own 3 Ronins though!

Have a few Ronins myself with the Snody/Janich sig....use to have more but they became too hard to carry all of them at once...LOL....Mr. Snody makes some fine knives, but there is the custom price tag that goes along with them to consider...still I can appreciate the fine work he does.....Doc :D
