Hey, does anybody know if the top swedge has been slightly modified on the new D-flys, specifically the G10's. What i'm seeing on my new G10 is a slight hint of "arrowhead" being formed by the bevel on the swedge over half way down the blade spine heading toward the tip...I did not notice this on the older frn ones, but then again i wasn't really looking...I haven't pulled the old carbon fiber D-fly out of storage yet to check either. Can anyone confirm this or does anyone even know what i'm referring to? :o :)
(The G10 D-fly videos featured on Youtube seem to have this as well, but i haven't read any mention of this as a conscious "change" of blade design...)
Thanks.
...uh, what i mean is, when viewed from the side there is what appears to be a slight hump or angled bit three quarters down the spine toward the point.
The spine is still smooth all the way down, but the swedge grind makes it appear to be a little more steeper angled heading toward the tip.
My question is...Is this something new on the D-flys or did i just not notice this before?
Sorry I don't have the FRN version to compare to, but if you mean the area where the swedge grind ends, I think that the 'bump' there is just an illusion. If you run your finger down the spine of the blade it feels perfectly smooth to me.
It might be slightly different in the FRN version but if they're the same maker I don't know why there would be.
