Im real curious as to what materials are used for inner metal parts of the Salt knives. Is it possible that the lockpins could be titanium? I presume that the lockbar is H1,like the blade.i know for definite that the pocketclip,is titanium.

I know there is a thread about this floating around...
I searched but could not find it...

I do remember the comment did come from Kristi saying that it has the same properties of the H1.... I think

While at Blade in 2008 I asked Sal about the handle slabs on the Mariner Salt. I suspect his answer, that "There are a number of totally rust proof steels, but most are not suitable for blades" would apply to the lock spring and pins on the FRN Salts as well.

I remember Sal saying something along the lines of, "sorry, some things we keep secret" last time a similar question was asked...

I don't think the lockbar would be H1. You would have issues with hardness and one wearing the other out and such, no?

except that it would HAVE to be rustproof. There was somebody who left one [Pacific salt] in a bin full of salt water for a month in the fridge, let it dry for a month, and not a spec of rust on it. If it isnt H1, it just might be unobtainium.
