I agree if it's in decent condition AKA useable by your standards then by all means and just spend the extra $5 to send it in to spyderco to have the SE edge sharpened up like new. If it needs it maybe they just don't like it and it's old or something.

Good score! Right place, right time. Funny that it was too steep for the $10 bidder.

For $5, I gotta ask: is it a real Spyderco or a SpyderFaux?

Looks like a real one. I just don't think he knows what it is. Even if it's a fake, it can still be used in garden and garage.

I have picked up a 1st-gen Delica and an early Rescue Jr. for $6 each, and my wife foudn a pink FRN Native for $10 - I would pay $5 any day of the week for almost any Spyderco in usable condition.
