My SFO Sale Haul

#1

Post by Sequimite »

The package arrived today from Jim

Opened it with my trusty Lil' Temp

Unpacked my haul

I had asked for the Forager because I had a custom leather sheath for it.
The tag on the Temperence 2: "scratches on back" - I don't see them
The tag on the Jumpmaster, "flat serated tip" I see it, big deal
The tag on the CF Stretch, "scratch on handle", saved me the trouble
The only flaws I could find on any of the others were a couple of spots on handles and stiff action on the orange UKPK.

Christmas is early this year. Thanks, Jim.

ps: I have big plans for the Barongs which I will share later.

Congratulations Greg!!!!
Those are pretty good Xmas gifts you got there my friend!!!! I love your forager´s custom sheath, way better than the original kydex´s. Enjoy!!!! That ZDP stretch should look quite nice with some custom Green-black micarta scales, don´t you think?

That's part of it.

But before Mr. Krein does his magic, I have to get these to fit my hand better. Like Yablanowitz, the handle pinches my hand. Jose is going to do custom micarta scales, to get the full big Calypso effect and because I believe that a much thicker scale on the right (I'm right handed) side will go a long way towards solving the grip problem.

It will be several weeks, but I'll post pictures and report on how well the idea worked.

All the Rocklobster seconds I saw were $50.

Yep, everything in the picture was $50 except for the $25 UKPK and the $40 Temperance 2.

Out of all these knives I have to say that it is the Chokwe that immediately seems to come alive in the hand.

The only one I "don't get" yet is the Rock Lobster. If I use it and like it, I'm going to refashion the back end of the handle to resemble the Lil' Temp because my fingers can't seem to find a home.

VanHash, the Sheath came with a Woodlander I bought which also had it's original sheath. The name on the front is BLOODWORTH and I've found them pretty easily before with teh google.

I think the Orange UKPK is supposed to be that way. Mine is the same way and it's a little stiffer than my black UKPK. I prefer it because it's also harder to close which I think would prevent accidental closings better. Congrats.
