Benchmade uses the Spyder-hole?

#1

Post by RJNC »

Is the Spyder-hole actually a registered/pateneted thing? It seems like Benchmade is using the spyder-hole for their knives. Is this authorized?

Just gonna head this off before it gets going, cause this topic tends to get people fired up round here really quick...

Dont worry about it... Spyderco knows...there has been an arrangement between them. Other than that... let it go, and remember that both companys are incredible... just different.

Try the search function as well for this one.

But hey folks, lets keep this civil and with shiny footprints.

I honestly didn't know. I was just looking on Moore Cutlery website and noticed that alot of the openings were very round and familiar on the Benchmades....

The round hole opener is a registered trademark of Spyderco, Inc. The two companies have an agreement. Beyond that, the less said, the better.

Its cool, alot of folks ask... thats why we/I know it tends to get heated quickly...

Dont worry about asking, thats cool. Its true, search peanut butter and jelly... seems that what every thread ends up talking about anyways.

You know what's really good as a sandwich? Nutella and peanut butter. Mmmm. I bet if you put marshmellow Fluff in there too it'd be even better. Oh, and how about chips? That'd make it crunchy... mmmmmm

Mmm, Nutella :D
I've been getting the "grind it yourself" peanut butter lately. It comes out crunch and a little bit course. Good stuff!
Cherry preserves are especially good as far as jelly goes.

Nutella, oh man. They invented that stuff on Mt. Olympus, I think. Mere mortals have few things as sweet to eat as that stuff. Spyderco content: you don't need a sharp knife to cut or spread it! :D

I cant bring myself to get the grind yourself stuff. Something about the visual of it just throws me off I think.

I have been on the natural stir it yourself PB for over a year now, and have no plans to go back. It is a small pain in the arse- the first time you open it you have to stir carefully. But- it tastes much better and there's no hydrogenated oil or extra sugar. Just natural nutty goodness. Has anyone tried Lingonberry preserves?

This is the best peanut butter BM thread yet. Thanks for keeping it civil forumites.
