My Persistance Impressions

#1

Post by Roland »

Hi,

I'll try to share my objective first impression on the Spyderco Persistence, the Endura 4 and Caly3 will follow on extra Thread's.

I know, Pics are recomended, but I've only a Handy-Cam and you don't want to see the results ;-). I'm sorry about that.

After many Reviews about the Resistence, I ordered it on my Offline-Seller.After 4 Days it arrives. My first G-10.

Here we go:

At first, I'm not a Hardcore-User, please consider that on Reading this and following Reviews.

Optic closed: Nice. No failures, all Srews (left / right Side) looks very clean and the Lanyard-Tube also. The Liners haven't any ridges, scratches or whatever. The Clip was right-Handed and Tip-Down. I changed it in left-Handed and Tip-Up. I'm right-Handed but it seems Tip-Up, Blade right, is saftier for me (better Feeling). The Size is for my Hands perfect.

On the Linerside, the G-10 interrupts maybe 0,5mm and on lenght at 6cm. I don't no why. The Liner- and Bladejimpings are clear also.

You can see the Bronz-Washer through the Clip-Screwholes, I think other Knives will have the same. No Problem for me.

The surface looks very cleanly an worth.

Optic open: The Blade looks very cleanly, no unevenness. I know, a Guy on Youtube tells about uneveness over the Blade. The Blade indicates the Number 150, the Bug is clearly lasered, also the Spyderco and Material tags. The Liner is solid and locks the Blade 100% safty.

Somethings to be conspicious, I think it's a right-Handed flipping Knife only, because on the right Side the Notch (?) is ergonomicle than the left Side.

Haptic closed: Confirmed my Optic-closed Impressions. No ridges, all's clearly. The G-10 is tiny plain and not *solid* black in comparison with my Caly3 (but Stop, I haven't the Caly3 at this Time). It was my first G-10 and I have to say I was positivly surprised. This G-10 benefits, Your Jeanspockets will not be so stressed.

Haptic open: The Flipping-Character is amazing ;-). The Flippingsound 's a very solid 'Clack' for a Knife in this Scaling. There is no Blade and mechanicle tolerance.

The Edge is very sharp ;-)

The Round Hole and every border are very clearly processed. Ok, the Line have a very very tiny roughness between the recasso (?) and Liners (Jimpings) End. Maybe 0,5 or less mm. What ever. Isn't important for me and so I overlook this.

The Bladematerial is ok for the easy daily Tasks. I'm not an Expert also I know isn't a High-Premium Steel. But it's completely ok for me. If I want High-Premium so I have to pay more.

In my Opinion, it's very nice Knife in the 50€ European Pricerange. The Qualitycontrol is more than ok.

IMO this Knife deserved 3.5 big Thumbs from 5 in the Low-Budget Ligue. Why 3.5 only ? Because I'm not the Hardcore-User, so I haven't experiences with that. My Rating is an association with Manufacture Process.

And for me, it's the best Flipping-Knife I have actually ;-). I really like it.

PS: The only Thing I have is, it's a full Blade Edge. So you have a little care while closing the Knife.
