Anyone own a Caspian?
Anyone own a Caspian?
Haven't heard too much about these knives but i plan on getting one soon i was wondering if anyone has an experience with them. They seem to be a good knife. H-1 holds up nicely for me so far and the fingerhole in the caspian is a plus for sure gripping. I don't recall seeing anyone posting anything about them but i didn't do a search either. If anyone has one can you do a comparison photo of it next to a common spydie like a delica or endura maybe a stretch or manix 2 just something to compare it's size to doesn't really matter what knife i'm just trying to get a feel for it before i pull the trigger on this one
i own a caspian, and absolutely love it! it's a real sleeper in spyderco's line-up... or at least, on the forums here. the grip options are truly excellent. i've put mine to work on oil spills, and out in the ocean, and yes, the fingerhole is of immense utility. they're also slightly curved, like a hawkbill... and H1, of course, which is the greatest steel of all... :DVashHash wrote:Haven't heard too much about these knives but i plan on getting one soon i was wondering if anyone has an experience with them. i like using my caspian as hiking companion on trips when i don't expect to need to baton, as a saltwater fishing buddy, and as an oil spill response knife.
:D
do you have a rock salt yet? if you're thinking of a new spydie, and you like H1 and curvy blades... the rock salt is AMAZING. definitely the greatest FB i've ever handled or owned. it's a little spendy, but really not at all when you consider the quality and utility. it's simply unmatched. doc snubnose praises it as his #1 SD primary fixed blade (high honors!)... and it is my number 1 outdoor knife up here in alaska. also would make a perfect "inglourious basterds" knife, or zombie defense tool... :D

I don't own a Caspian, but did want to pass on that the Rock Salt is only ~$100 bucks now, if you're interested in that knife. :cool:clovisc wrote:do you have a rock salt yet? if you're thinking of a new spydie, and you like H1 and curvy blades... the rock salt is AMAZING. definitely the greatest FB i've ever handled or owned. it's a little spendy, but really not at all when you consider the quality and utility.
