Ladybug Tanto
Ladybug Tanto
Ok so we have a hawkbill coming, Ladybug 2 is a nice sheepsfoot, and the regular Ladybug is a nice traditional shaped blade, how about a Ladybug Tanto next? Or what other blade shapes do you think would be cool for a Ladybug?
I would love to see a ladybug tanto. Or a recurve edge like the Cricket.

If you look at the ladybug cutting edge it is almost the same length as the dragonfly. I also find that most of the time that I use the dragonfly (my edc for over 10 years) I do not use the choil, making it a three finger knife. Due to this I switched to the ladybug since I get dragonfly performance (for the most part) in a smaller package.
Interesting notion.
I think it would be wise to first see the reaction to the hawkbill Ladybug.
We made a Salt version of the Ladybug at the request of customers. We are studying results on that model as well. I thik they are all good ideas. The question is "are there enough customers that also have interest.
We don't mind making special variations of knives for our customers, but some items have such a small group of interested customers, that we end up sitting on inventory that slows down other models.
David,
The Ladybug has been around for about 15 years. It has been copied by the makers in Taiwan and the makers in China as well. Copies can be found in baskets across America. We are "honored" by their interest.
The "real" Ladybug is a little longer than the claw on a Bengal Tiger and 100 times sharper. VG-10 is an awesome steel. This edge resides in a politically correct package, it is socially friendly, legal in most areas and takes up less room than a tube of lip ice.
It is eaily carried and very convenient. In my opinion, the current Ladybug packs more cutting horsepower per ounce, dollar, or inch than any other small knife on the market todeay.
Have you carried one? Maybe it's just not for you?

Very good info. I didn't know a lot of that. I own one Ladybug. The white sprint run model in full SE. This is something I bought for my daughter and she will get it in a couple years since she's 6 now.
I have never carried one. I used to have a Jester and it was somewhat hard for me to open with one hand.
I guess I need to get another one and carry it and see how she works.
You have a tenancy to rub off on me and make me think a bit more open minded about a lot of things. Thanks.
