Sage II scales finish?

#1

Post by gull wing »

Is it a bead blast on the Ti scales? I thought it was just a bead blast, but after using the knife a lot these few weeks, there is not a scratch on them.
I have several Ti knives with aluminum oxide blast and they show scratches pretty easy, which is not a bad thing, but I expected the same on the Sage.
Could it be a hard coating on the Ti?

I don't know what the finish is, but my Sage also looks great and feels smooth after a few weeks of use.

I've had mine clipped for a couple of weeks and would have to agree - whatever it is, appears to be pretty tough. Mine is showing little shiney spots on one of the edges where it's been bumping into other stuff I pull out of my pocket, but it's not noticeable. I'm used to having lanyards on my folders so this is a little weird for me. The clip is slippier than I thought, but in saying that, it hasn't accidently slipped off either :)
