Looks like the handle has a brushed appearance from what I can see in the pic.

Besides SD, what is the use of this knife?

I picked up two Swicks ...
Wraithe: I find the Spot, Swick and Capsian incredibly useful for everyday use. With your finger in the hole, you can hold items that you are working on, so you never need to put the knife down. It’s great for breaking down boxes and such since there is no looking for where you put the knife know; the blade is right there where you need it. Oddly enough, I am actually typing (hunt and peck) this with the knife rotated 180 deg around my finger. Presently, I am finding the design of the Swick to be more useful compared to the Spot, but the Spot does have that great reverse S blade.

I don't see how you can carry this knife when it says it doesn't come with a sheath.

Carefully, very carefully
Seriously though, you would have to make one or have someone make it for you.

Beautiful pics, mountainmanjim. It's a fair assumption you live VERY close to Spyderco HQ, no?

Gonna have to find someone to make a sheath, similar to this:

Jay Ev,
Yeah, I pass SFO twice a day :D
I put myself on the "bug" list for the Swicks when I heard Sal as going to make another run. Lynette gave me a call today and I ran to SFO after work.
