Black Coating - what is it?

#1

Post by ronberens »

I picked up one of the Native's at the SFO sale Saturday, and I was wondering what is used to coat the blade black? Is there anything I need to do to maintain it?

Its called Diamond Like Carbon or DLC. Every once and a while I put a light coat of oil on it and wipe it off. This it makes it look "more" black and less dried out. Holds up well.

Close your eyes, buy a new spydie, then switch the black one in your hand with the new one, open your eyes again then say "wow! it's gone!"
