Torx screw size?
Hi folks,
This is my first post on the Spyderco forum. All I can say is 'what a great place for everything Spyderco'.
Now, to my question. Does anyone know what torx size the screws are on the Mini Manix pocket clip please?
I've just recieved a new Mini Manix and I'd like to swap the pocket clip around for tip up carry but I don't seem to have the right sized torx for the pocket clip screws. I just wanted to check before I go out and by myself a set of torx only to find the size I need isn't included in the set.
Thanks in advance.
Take care,
Tony

The clip on the Mini Manix takes a T9. A T8 will work too but it will be slightly loose.

Can't be certain, since both my Manix and Mini Manix are older versions with Phillips head screws, but I'd be rather surprised if that's true. The Torx screws on every Spyderco three screw clip I've ever encountered which used them were T-6. Think you're thinking of the Torx screw for the models which use a wire clip.PSU wrote:The clip on the Mini Manix takes a T9. A T8 will work too but it will be slightly loose.

Are you talking about the clip screws, or the pivot?cyberspyder wrote:It's a T9. I just took apart my Manix.

All of the screw heads are the same size on the latest Mini Manix. The Deacon wrote:Are you talking about the clip screws, or the pivot?

Yes, on both the Manix and the Mini-Manix, all the screws are the same (or at least use the same Torx bit).

Wow, that's surprising, although I'm not sure why, since change seems to be the only constant where :spyder: is concerned. :o :Dcyberspyder wrote:Yes, on both the Manix and the Mini-Manix, all the screws are the same (or at least use the same Torx bit).

Well, I've already been convinced that I was wrong, and it's a really nice picture, but either those knives have the ultra-new fully transparent clip and clip screws, or it really doesn't prove anything.Murdoc wrote:Proof here.

Ok you got me :)
All I was wanting to show with this nice pic (not mine) was that screw heads with different diameter feature apparently the same Torx bit size in the handle and pivot; that's something I never actually noticed on my Mini Manix; on the Spydies I remember disassembling, the pivot screws always were bigger than the handle screws.
It would be nice to see the other side with the clips (unless, as you guessed, these Manixes are equipped with leftie invisible ones
)

They also have the flat and Phillips that other knives might use.

It's a T6, I believe. Also, "necrophilia" is most definitely not the word you were looking for...HWnut wrote:Sorry for necrophilia, but I want to know the size of the Torx screw that is needed to screw off the clip on the new Endura 4 and Delica 4 with FFG and colored handles?
Thanks for answer! :)

I heartily agree, on both matters. :) I suggest getting a Kershaw T-Tool if you only need a T6 (also comes with a small phillips bit and a T8), because it's only about $5.HWnut wrote:@sim
Maybe forum necromancy is better? :D
And thanks for the answer. Will have to buy a T6 torx then.
I think he was referring to the OP of this thread, who seems to have only posted this single thread two years ago, and then been in lurk-mode for the past two years... Or just abandoned the forum. Anyway, a welcome to you. :) Hopefully you'll stay longer than Tony...HWnut wrote:@jim
thanks, but I'm another HWnut.![]()
Will have a look on this one if my tool shop around the corner does not sell me a T6 well below that $5. :)Simsmac wrote:I heartily agree, on both matters. :) I suggest getting a Kershaw T-Tool if you only need a T6 (also comes with a small phillips bit and a T8), because it's only about $5.
Oh you are right again. I just saw his UK location and thought he would be on the same air gun forum as me, there are other HWnut's, thought he meant one from there. :DSimsmac wrote: I think he was referring to the OP of this thread, who seems to have only posted this single thread two years ago, and then been in lurk-mode for the past two years... Hopefully I stay longer. Today I got my first Spyderco. The Spyderco Endura 4 FFG with gray handle. As soon as I unpacked it I was totally impressed. The next thing was that I reconized they offer a smaller version the Delica. I ordered my second Spyerco immediately (Delica 4 with brown handle) on the same day I got my first LOL. I hope this doesn't get me addicted... :D
