I tell you, that family has had a rough year. Their daughter battles and dies from Breast Cancer, and all the time the Dad (my friend) was suffering from a chronic pulmonary disease, and now just 2 months after their daughter passed away, he is in St. Louis as of last week, sitting at #1 on the list for a lung transplant.
Sorry to hear about your friend's daughter
Enjoy your new knife. In never thought I might like a pink knife, especially a Native, but I do. Strange, humm?
The mind commands the body and it obeys. The mind orders itself and meets resistance.
I am so happy and grateful to see a PINK NATIVE come out for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! :D
I lobbied awhile back for a pink spyderhawk :spyder: , but this makes me just as HAPPY! :)
Breast Cancer is a dreaded disease, but with more people like Spyderco stepping forward, helping us reach masses of people, in a totally different stream of the world....this I thank all of you for this great little knife!!!! :spyder:
A little bit more knowledge and a little bit more research, puts us a little bit closer to solving this enormous disease.
And even though we lobby for pink and women, guys you are not immune!
hey Chris..i thought it might be nice to have a thread with pics of everybody's pink natives...this is just the wrong forum..i got the idea totally from you and this thread....so here it is..i hope you dont mind :)
I've so very happy to see that this concept actually made it to production, and I'll definitely be ordering mine soon. It's also really nice to see such a warm response here, considering all the negativity that flooded my original thread when I first suggested the idea of a cancer charity knife.
Thanks very much, Sal. This one truly means a great deal to me, as I'm sure it does to many others. Best wishes to you and the rest of the Spyderco crew.
It goes almost without saying, that Spyderco, deserves a great big round of applause for getting this PINK NATIVE to market!
But, kudos to all of you who are purchasing the knife! A little bell goes off in
our world 'of cancer prevention' everytime a knife is purchased! Just think of it as helping one more person that is struggling with the disease, becoming a little bit closer to being cured!
And I hate to sound like a broken record, but since this is a board of mostly guys....you are not immune to getting breast cancer! I am not trying to push a panic button, but you need to be AWARE also. It unfortunately, is not just a disease for women!
