Bob Lum: An artist of blades

#2

Post by JD Spydo »

In the past year the one sad event here in the world of blades that really depressed me like a Californian sub prime mortgage holder was the horrible, untimely death of Mr. Bob Lum. I had met Mr. Lum at the 2006 Atlanta BLADE show and I was close to inking a deal for him to make me a tanto folder. I never got to get it off the ground due to some committments that arose but I was surely going to have one made.

The Spyderco Lum blades will always have a special place in my heart. I never liked tanto blades much at all until I got a user, G-10, ATS-55 folder that I still have and cherish to this day. I truly think that Mr. Lum was on his way to becoming one of the top 10 knife makers of all time.

For all of you who own Spyderco Lum design blades and it doesn't matter which model you own I'm advising you not to let them go. They are to the knife world what Van Gogh was to the art world. A big thumbs up for the legacy of Mr. Bob Lum

good advice. I just got a lum zdp and have been using it. I plan to order a second one very soon to keep safe.

it's a great knife and I love the overall design.
