Hey guys just wanted to share an experience I had tonight.
My father was invited to a small Christian outdoorsmen meeting to speak. He brought me along to show off a few knives, and talk about sharpening the, splitting hairs and stuff. I also got to show off a few of my flashlights (read 4K lumen "Torch" original made by Mac). I'm not the greatest speaker, but I don't mind talking about my hobbies at all, so I just tried to approach it as that.
I talked about steel, heat treatment, qualities you want in a blade etc. I passed around my hair splitting Tom Krein FFG E4W, and people were really impressed.
There were a lot of people after it was over with that wanted to know more about different steels, which ones I liked, and the BIG QUESTION: What knife brand would you reccommend? Of course I had to say Spyderco. I told them they cost a little more than the usual knife, but the quality was well worth the price.
Also, they really got a kick out of the "Torch", and a lot of people wanted the website where they could buy a Fenix of their own.
All in all, I had a good time, and I got to spread the Spyderco name. :D
