Salts in the Sierras

#1

Post by LightHearted »

My girlfriend and I went for a 4 mile day hike to a little waterfall in the Sierras about an hour outside of Yosemite today. Since the rain was expected to continue all day, I decided to test out my new Pacific Salt SE and let my girlfriend carry my new Salt 1 SE. I used the Pacific to cut our sandwich and open a couple of food packages as well as break down a small cardboard box to more easily fit in my new GoLite pack. H1 steel is absolutely fantastic in SE. I was very impressed at the keen edge on this knife as compared to my PE Salt 1. Sharp and no rust. I’m hooked. When we stopped for lunch, I started taking some pictures of the knife on a fallen tree. I was expecting her to say something like “Come on, let’s get going.” But her actual comment surprised me. She said, “Isn’t that knife made for the water? Why don’t you go down to the water and take some pictures.” :) That’s just another reminder of why I love that woman! Here are some pictures of the trip and the knife. Thanks for looking.

Very nice pics. I want to get a yellow H-1 tasman to go with my yellow catcherman, they will be the Perfect pair for canoeing. John.
