Hi BHDKnifer. Are you talking about the Assist model? Sure does look like a very well designed piece. I'm not exactly sure who the designer is. I'll check back, I'd like to know too.

Have fun at the JY and be careful man!

Mine is kept in the car, but i believe if you look at the handle, somewhere around the glassbreaker/whistle, you should see a small circle with a SAL logo on it.

It's a great knife - sadly I got mine 2 weeks before the orange model came out (which for this knife, I'd have preferred)....nonetheless, wonderful knife that I hope I never have to use for it's designed purpose.

Don't cut yourself with the broken glass! (though a spyderbite would be fine...you don't own the knife till you get one ;) )

Breaking auto safty glass is no big deal. It doesnt break like a plate glass window. ;)

ep...i can attest to that. we were drilling on a car and just for fun i tried smash a window with the hurst tool (probably weighs around 40-50lbs) with a good amount of force and it bounced off the window  . a co-worked pulled out his assist and broke the window with ease. when using it try hitting the point near an edge or corner where the glass meets the metal, it is easier in those spots..just an fyi

The only thing better would be an orange G10 version. The rescue is a great knife.
