Best Knife????????

Best Knife? Best for what? Depends on the task at hand. I'm sort of glad there is no such thing as "best". If there was a best knife I would only have one, and what fun would that be :D :D

:spyder: The smurf killer Yojimbo my wife gave me as an aniversary present is the one I love the best. My street beat is best for quartering chickens. My P'kal is best for edge in tactics. My civilian is best for scaring NKPs. :spyder:

My best today (and particularly yesterday) is my Meerkat, I was doing a fair amount of serious cutting yesterday, and it didn't even flinch!!

When I (finally) get them, I think my best might change to the Caly 3, or Tasman SE!

If you want a classy, light/medium duty knife for Every Day Carry, then the Caly 3 is probably "best".

If you want something bigger, I vote for the Stretch 2.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

The one in my pocket at any given time is the best knife I have

For me the Paramilitary is the best knife. I love it more than any other knife that Spyderco makes. I always come back to it.

as you can get. just don't tell my dodo. It thinks it's the best

For an "out of the box" knife, my vote would go to the new CF Stretch, the middle knife in the photo below. Top shelf materials, excellent fit and finish, decent (3.5") size blade, fully ambidextrous lock, 5 way clip, ;) and the best blade to handle ratio of any knife I've used. Plus, a full flat ground blade that's thin enough to take full advantage of that grind.

Of my personal knives, I'd have to choose the top one in the photo. Original Stretch, customized for me by Steve Rice (STR). Lignum Vitae scales over titanium liners.

Tough call, but I think the "best" overall Spyderco folder would be one of the E4 flavors. I base this on price, availability, blade steel, carry options, overall size, blade shape and social acceptability. I think the E4's can handle anything from office chores to kitchen duty to wilderness survival to SD and perform admirably well in any of these functions as well as others. Not the best at any one task, but just a great knife platform overall. I find them visually appealing as well. I have a pink PE, waved and just got my G-10 in. :D :D

On the other hand, my favorite knife is probably a Military, either my D2 or my BG-42.

Welcome and have fun with your decision!
