:spyder: I put off getting one for years because it's only tip down, but I got one, now I have two. Soon I'll have more. Yeah, I love it. :spyder:

It's "too much knife" for me. I'd never carry it.
I much prefer Spyderco's "big little knives" like the C90 CoPilot, the C04 Executive, and the C32 Spur

I don't "hate it", in fact I think it is definitely one of Spyderco's iconic blades. However, when it comes to putting one in my pocket, it's wrong handed, overly bulky, and only comes in a choice two materials, neither of which I care for.

How does the military compare with the police? I am a bit taken with the serrated police, though it looks a little big (over a 4 inch blade!) for a casual pocket edc...though I am in the market for a Yo which I think is a whopping 5" closed...

Love it. For years, I thought it was definitely too much knife, plus it was tip down only and expensive to boot. I bought my first (D2 FG version) a few months ago because I really liked the way the FG G-10 looked. I didn't think it would see much pocket time in the EDC rotation. I now have 3 Millies (D2 FG, CF BG-42, CE CPM S30V), and one is almost always in one of my pockets. The Military platform has become one of my all-time favorites.
As has been mentioned, they feel really good in the hand, ride surprisingly well in the pocket and, for me, have enough blade to handle anything I am likely to encounter during the average day. Size might be a little intimidating to NKP's but I honestly haven't had any eyebrows raised yet when I have used it.
I say go for it!

I have CFBG42 Milly. I do not hate it, it looks nice, but I never carried it because it is tip down and 4" blade is illegal to carry in my state.

When I took my first mili out of the package it looked huge. But didn't take long to get used to it. Now I carry one every day it's the only model that I have more then one of (different steels) for now. I would like for one to come out in D4 but have feeling the D4 will be in a different my guess is a native but that would be good too.
It's just simply too large for my tastes. It's more knife than I need and isn't exactly inconspicuous.

I've had a BG42 CF Millie for about 2 weeks now. It's the only Military I have, but I have 15 or 20 other Spydies. I bought it to have a BG42 blade and a Military model in the "family", since it is a Spyderco icon.
First... F&F is flawless on mine; the blade is perfectly centered (thanks, Mike); the lockup is solid and stable; the edge is sharp almost beyond belief (even for a Spyderco). She's a great knife and I have no regrets.
Second... she'll likely be a drawer queen except for those occasional "dates" to help us bond. A 4" blade is too long to be useful to me in 95% of my carrying and cutting. And, if I'm going to use a larger folder like the Millie, I prefer more weight to the knife.
The Para, OTOH, is perfect. I frequently carry mine around town and my wife carries it when we're hiking or camping.

I have six, one in each of the steels as far as I know. There is a reason for that
. I love having that much blade with that little weight. The liner lock is the best engineered and executed example of the type I have ever seen. Ergonomics are perfect for my somewhat oversized hands, even with gloves on. I give it two thumbs up. I'd give it more if I had 'em. :D

I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.
After trying a variety of blade shapes and styles, I decided that I like the narrow blade, light weight, and I especially like the open back design accompanying the liner lock of the military. It's a simple and effective knife.
The one problem for me is the handle. I feel it could be made much more ergonomic and smaller.
