Depends on whether you're in your "right" mind or not ;)

I like the way the delica looks. I might have to get one of those after all.

Can some one help me out understanding the price point of these, though? I'm wondering why a G10 Delica is going for more than a G10 Caly 3. I can't see the delica being that much more expensive to make?

The Endura is 3 mm thick at the spine, and the Delica is 2.5 mm. I don't have any way of measuring the edge.

I also must admit to being confused about this. Is G-10 really that much more expensive to work with than FRN?

Congrats and thanks for sharing, I dare say that I would enjoy this knife more than my Caly 3.

Wouldn't it be nice if ALL the D4 and E4 were flat ground?

Could the volume ordered.

Also, the price is not really that out of line to other G-10 handled knives Spyderco sells if you think about (The Manix, Military, Para-Military, Chinook, et al.)

You are serious? ****, which means the Endura is gonna be as good slicing as Caly3 and the Delica would be thinner than Caly? I would have to get both then, ****! :D

It's supply and demand after all, seriously, Byrd line and the new Tenacious are in 20-30 bucks range with G10 handle, and still can make a profit out of them. While the blade, the liner, the screw, the clip, packaging all costs money, so go figure how much the G10 would actually cost to manufacture, not more than 10 dollars I would say, unless Spyderco wants to loose money per knife they sell :p
But hey, if we are willing to pay, there is nothing wrong. Just like why would we happily pay 100 bucks for a bottle of wine in a restaurant while it is selling at $50 in liquor store and the cost to make the bottle of wine is less than 10 dollars?

You also have to consider that the G-10 Endura and Delica are made in Japan. You have several things to factor in...

The cost of labor is higher in Japan than in China.

You also have to factor in the exchange rate. The dollar is worth about 7.20619 Chinese Yuan Renminbi. The dollar is worth 106.836 Japanese Yen. Now, that might not mean much to you, does not really mean that much to me! However, the Chinese do control the Yuan and its' value, unlike the U.S. Dollar and the Yen.

All things consider, the Chinese are always going to be able to build it cheaper, even if made from the same materials.

I think I've read some where the chinese didn't make the G10 scale, sal shipped the scale to china for assembly. But hey, I'm not the one complaining seeing spyderco making money to survive, it's business after all. And who would want to run a business and not making profit?
