CE SS Cara Cara question

#1

Post by haxxor »

Is the plain edged portion double "v" ground, or does it have a chisel grind?

I am pretty sure the CE SS Cara Cara will have a chisel grind on the PE portion. The FRN Meadowlark is like this as well. I believe the CE Crow/Raven have V-grinds on the PE portion, but the other byrds are all chisel grinds for CE.

Perhaps someone else can confirm.

I had asked this same question some time back and I believe the replies indicated that all CE Byrds are chisel ground on the PE portion.

JBE - I think you are right with the possible exception of the Crow.

I don't have one, but I am sure I saw a picture of a CE Crow somewhere and it was clearly a V-grind on the PE portion.
Maybe someone has one and can confirm?

One of the reasons I like CE Spydercos so much is because of the V-grind on the PE portion.

You are correct, CE Crows/Ravens have V grinds.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

I have one of the original CE Cara Cara's, and it is chisel ground. I also had a FRN Endura CE (now called Endura 3) that was chisel ground. Both knives were chisel ground in both SE and PE portions of the edge. I have heard others say that their CE Enduras were "V" ground on the PE sections of the blade, so who knowes.
First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.
